Nuremberg, March 09th, 2011 – Peak Solution launches version 1.3.0 of the Peak Resource Planner. A software for company-wide planning and administration of tests and test resources. The specialists for integrated software solutions in the field of test and measurement data management have not only improved the display options for calendars and lists in the new version but also configured the Peak Resource Planner to actively support users in planning tests and thus avoid conflicts in the allocation of test resources in advance.
In companies or institutions that have to conduct a large number of various test series, the planning and allocation of test resources can quickly lead to conflicts. Factors that need to be taken into account in planning range from reserving rooms and test benches, via the administration of test samples, measuring equipment and apparatus, down to setting up test assemblies and assigning employees. The Peak Resource Planner, planning software that is optimized for use in test departments and whose development was supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics, ensures a better use of test resources, while avoiding duplicate assignments. Managing allocation calendars for the various types of resources forms the core component of the software. Thanks to freely configurable test templates, test technicians can flexibly manage test types and quickly generate concrete test descriptions. At the planning stage, the software already compares requirements with the allocation lists or calendars and actively supports the scheduling of tests and the solution of allocation conflicts.
Transparency and flexibility
The overview has been improved by giving the user the chance to choose from different views. He can, for instance, see how many test benches of a specific group are currently used or the allocation of test equipment relevant to him. The resources needed for implementation are determined for each test type. In addition, “basic“ resources can be defined for the tests to be scheduled. The system then highlights all further resources involved in the test.
Thanks to its modular construction, the Peak Resource Planner 1.3.0 can be very easily adjusted to different technical tasks. The planning instrument can be connected via an interface to the openMDM-Framework measurement data management system. The software is also equipped to handle confidential test data: Administrator and user rights, as well as access rights, can be defined via a role concept.
